This item is made using a rare, old-fashioned Azuma knitting machine, crafted from a 30/30/7 count heavyweight fleece made in Japan. The backside of the yarn is brushed for a warm feel, perfect for the fall and winter seasons.
The Azuma knitting machine is one of the earliest machines from the 1970s, when loopwheel knitting machines were replaced by high-speed knitting machines. It is a rare and valuable machine, with few remaining. Its extremely slow knitting speed means it can only knit one or two bolts per day, making it a low-productivity machine. Its slow speed allows for a soft, fluffy texture.
