BIRD COLLECTIVE - PATCH - COMMON RAVEN
Poe knew: Ravens are passerines: 'still is sitting, still is sitting.' The largest in the order of perching birds, or songbirds, their 'songs' consist of loud croaks and strange musical notes. Ravens are scavengers and predators, and for centuries have followed human settlement knowing they can find a quick meal. These acrobatic flyers are remarkably diverse as old-growth forests, high Arctic tundra, arid desert, and industrial waterfronts. They are among the smartest of all birds, and experiments have demonstrated their insight when solving problems.
