MEO FUSCIUNI - 3# NOTA DI VIAGGIO (CIAVURU D'AMURI)

In this perfume, Meo found his land again:  Ciavuru d'amuri was born in Sicily south of the world.  In the austere silence, he waits for his time.  Women's scents envelop the house, the saltiness of wooden hooves.  Mothers' robes smell of incense, mothers caress rosaries.  He remembers those late summer afternoons when in a hurry, from the sea he would return home, male and female, steal the figs from the crumbling walls faced the street.  They would run to the feast, the great doors of the churches would open their secrets, their scent.  Remembering those summer evenings when weary he slept in his mother's arms, his hands still smelled of figs, but his love guarded him in the white robes, among the incense that enveloped her.
